Fun-filled weekend!

This weekend was my weekend off, which is something that I always look forward to, whether we have something planned or not. But this weekend, we planned to go to the Parade of Homes with our friends, Daniel and Annie. I had never been, so I was really excited. We spent like 4 hours and saw 4 homes. These are crazy cool homes! One home that we saw was over 15,000 square feet and consisted of a basketball court, racquet ball court, and climbing wall. It was really amazing to me... I think I could seriously get lost in that house. The stairs alone were kicking my butt walking up and down them! (Which is why, I'm guessing, they have an elevator! Yeah, really!) Sorry that I forgot my camera at home, so I don't have any pics.

Later that afternoon, one of my most favorite people, Brittany Donan, came down to do a "Slumber Party" for me. I was a little nervous about how others would be about it, but it was so super fun! I really loved it! And Britt is so stinkin cute that she was able to make it completely fun and not awkward for anyone. I would highly recommend having her do one for you ladies! It was a fun afternoon with just the girls. The boys were kicked out for the afternoon... but I think they were ok with it because they were able to go shooting and "site-in" their guns.

But it was definitely a good weekend off. Now we just get to finish it off by speaking in church tomorrow! ;)

Wisdom teeth fun!

So on the 20th, I had the fun time of finally getting my wisdom teeth removed. You better believe that I had all 4 of them and there was absolutely no room in my mouth for any of them. So basically, it's been 2 days and I still look this good... yeah, I know, really sad!



Ya know... at least I could have swollen evenly, but no...

But Jarv has been really good about taking care of me; you'd think he is going to school to be a nurse or something. He is constantly asking when I took my last pill, what was the last thing I ate, and how long I've had my ice packs on. He's been really good; I just really appreciate all that he does for me!

Fam!

This weekend, Jarv and I made a quick trip up to Salt Lake to see my cousin Marlayne get married. It was our first time in the SLC temple and I was so excited! It was gorgeous! It was also a crazy day with there being over 70 weddings there that day! But it was so worth it; I just love going to weddings in the temple not only because I love seeing how happy and in love the bride and groom are, but also because it makes me think of my wedding day and the covenants that I made. It also makes me think about how lucky I am to have Jarv; he really is the best thing for me! He compliments me so well! When I am stressin and freakin out, he is just as calm as can be. I always joke that the only thing that gets him excited or nervous or any kind of emotion change is softball or football; he's just really easy going and nothing bothers him.

Anyways, at the wedding, we also got to spend a little bit more time with my fam. I have probably the cutest fam ever! Here's some pics at the temple...

Decorating the house

So we've officially moved into our house. I've never had my own house before that I had to decorate! Jarv is trying to rush me into hanging stuff on the wall and I keep on telling him that I really need to think about it and it isn't something that I can rush into! haha... but really! But anyways, here are some pics of the house and where we are at so far. There's very few things that are hung up; we're workin on it!

My kitchen colors are that aqua color, brown, and tan. It's kinda crazy and fun how I came about all of my different dishes including some of them coming from a yard sale! Look how cute they all match! I really love my table!


This is probably my favorite room right now! I think it's because it's like the only room that I can officially say is done.

Once I feel better about taking pics of the other rooms, I'll post them. But I was just so excited about what we have done! I wish we had more pics of the 'before' house so then I could show everyone how much work we've really been doing!

Turkey Bowl

Every Thanksgiving, Hurricane has a football game for Hurricane Alumni or those living in town. The game consists of full pads and the whole deal. The teams are divided by married and single men. Jarv and Cody are on opposite teams and have been talking crap to each other all week long. It was super crappy weather. The game ended up with singles winning 12-7. Darnit, Jarv had to swallow that one. He is still stiff, but you can bet that he'll still play next year! He says that it's probably one of the funnest things that he does and really looks forward to it every year.

Saturday the 15th, we picked up Cody from the airport. Kinda crazy that it has been 2 years! His homecoming talk is Sunday... It's fun to have him home. Haylee was pretty scared of Cody when he first came down the escalator, but later in the car, she decided that she really liked him and kept giving him hugs.

4 Random things I love about my husband
1- He is such a smarty pants! I love that he is motivated to do well in school and is so super smart!
2-Softball is a love/hate relationship. I love that he is so passionate about sports and that he is athletic, but I hate going to tournaments on my weekends off.
3- I love when he winks at me; it is the cutest thing ever! No one winks quite like him.
4- I love it when he laughs... he really doesn't laugh all that much even when he thinks something is funny, he'll just smile. But if he thinks that it's really funny, he has this little chuckle/giggle and I love it! I also love that he has to make himself laugh in pictures so that he doesn't look stupid... I just think that he is really cute...

For real home owners now!

So just yesterday, Jarv and I found out that we are home owners! It's kinda a crazy story too...

So we had bid on the house in Coral Canyon that we had mentioned in a recent post. Things were looking pretty good for us getting that house, but it was on a short sale and was taking forever! So we started looking around at other houses. We found this other house last Tuesday that we really liked, and even better, it wasn't on a short sale! It needs work, but it has a lot more potential to be a super cute house. Anyways, so we put in a bid on the house that same day.

On Thursday, we found out that at the last minute, someone had put a bid in for cash! Yeah, I know, I couldn't believe it... So today we thought that we hadn't gotten the house and weren't hoping for anything. But then, we got a call today telling us that the cash deal had fallen through so the bank decided to sell it to us! We are so excited! This is it... like I said, it'll need some love; the yard is like completely dead. That tends to happen when no one has lived there for 5 months. I'm kinda diggin the palm tree though.

Isn't that front window so cute?! I loved that! The entrance way and throughout the house has hardwood floors. The paint inside right now is like mint green -yeah, I know; that'll be fixed immediately!- When we move in, we'll have to have a party for everyone to see. But really, we are so excited!

I want...........To know my job! I'm tired of being on the learning curve!


I have...........a really great life; I look back on things and am really blessed... I have a really great fam with super great in-laws; I really lucked out with that one.


I wish...........We could find a house that we both agree on and that is in our price range.


I hate...........That I constantly feel unconfident and inadaquate at my job, but my boss keeps on telling me that I'm doing great.


I fear............That I'll lose this job and that we won't be able to get this house!


I hear...........some crazy crap from applicants and employees at work! Just because I'm HR doesn't mean that people should tell me some of the things that they do!


I always.......get ready for the day even if I have absolutely nothing going on for the day; it makes me feel better about myself.


I miss..........being little and not having to have a career.


I love...........Jarv, softball, and combining both of those is the best thing ever!


I never........wash the outside of my car; I think it's a pain in the butt and lots of times, Jarv ends up doing it cuz it drives him crazy!


I rarely........am on time to work! This is a huge prob that I really need to work on!


I cry............because of stress! But also in movies... and books... and TV shows... I'm ridiculous!


I am not always..........a sweetheart & the nicest person ever, despite what everyone thinks at work.


I lose.................it. I just lose it sometimes. Like right now, I think I'm slowly falling to pieces.


I am confused............why Jarv married me; I've seen his exes...


I need.................to let Jarv know more how much I appreciate him and all that he does; he really is great.


I should..............be folding laundry.


I dream..............about having a house, Jarv finishing school, and being able to be stress free (does that ever happen?)!

Stressed!

I'd just like to vent for a lil bit... So, as you know, I started a new job as the HR Manager at Target at the beginning of September. I really like it; it encompasses all the things in HR that I wanted to be doing. It keeps me super busy; I have over 130 employees and they keep me hoppin with schedules, time off, etc.

Another part of my job is closing one night a week and being the only manager on duty. Can I just say that this stresses me out beyond belief!? I'm a wreck the whole night, while still trying to be completely nice and friendly with the employees... Then, even after the building is closed and the alarm system is up, I stress about it the whole drive home and then I can't sleep at night! I am going crazy! So if anyone has any good ideas as to how I can relax and wind down, then that would be fabulous! It would be great for my sake... and poor Jarv's sake.
